Melodie Rubin is the founder of the luxury residential and commercial interior design firm, House of Ruby. Her award-winning firm creates timeless interiors that balance classic aesthetic traditions with personalized, custom details, resulting in exquisite spaces that are as eye catching as they are comfortable.

Located in the San Francisco Bay Area, House of Ruby Interior Design specializes in high-end residential and commercial interiors, with projects ranging in scale and scope, from cosmopolitan city retreats, to gracious suburban homes, seaside vacation residences, and luxurious spas.

A trusted voice on achieving a discerning elegance, based in comfort and livability, Melodie and her firm’s work have been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Gentry, The San Francisco Chronicle, Lee Jofa & Kravet’s Design Share, the Woodside Decorator Show House and the Dickens House.

She started her design career at MSA Planning and Design Consultants, where she created store interiors for national retailers including Disney Store, Bloomingale’s and The Children’s House. Under the mentorship of Grant K. Gibson, Melodie realized her passion for residential interior design and opened House of Ruby Interior Design in 2007.

Melodie earned a BA in Anthropology from UCLA and an AA in Interior Design from FIDM in San Francisco. She was part of Phi Theta Kappa, the National Dean’s List, graduated Magna Cum Laude, and served as ASID student chapter President. The Bay Area native has lived in London and New York and traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and Africa.
